4-Color
Separations produced to SWOP standards with a maximum 133-line screen are required. Right-reading emulsion-side down negatives and color proofs are required. UCR: Total density should not exceed 300% and no more than one solid color (100%) should appear in any one area. If color proof contacted from furnished film is not provided, publisher will contact match proof and charge at cost. If progressive proofs are provided, they should be printed wet-on-wet with black, cyan, magenta and yellow color sequence. Thin lines, fine serifs and medium or small type should be restricted to one color. Small type and fine serifs should not be used for reverse type.
Black & White and 2-Color
Right-reading emulsion-side down negatives and position proofs (showing color breaks, if applicable) are required. Maximum 133-line screen required. Four-color process film required for any 2-color ad running colors other than cyan, magenta, yellow or black (see 4-color film specifications). Thin lines, fine serifs and medium or small type should be restricted to one color. Small type and fine serifs should not be used for reverse type.
Bleeds: No additional charge.
Match (PMS) Color: Add 5% (PMS color must be 100%, unless 4-color process film is provided. Any PMS color less than 100% screened cannot be matched.)
5th or Special Color (including metallics): Call for price.
Premium Position/Guaranteed Placement: Additional 10%.
Business Reply Inserts: Can only be sold in conjunction with a minimum full-page ad and charged at the earned full-page black and white rate.
Newsprint Specifications

Black & White
For best reproduction, right-reading emulsion-side down negatives and position proofs are required. Veloxes or camera-ready mechanicals with screen prints in place are acceptable. Maximum 110-line screen for halftones and screen prints. Small type and fine serifs should not be used for reverse type.
2- and 4-Color

UCR: Total density should be 260% and no more than one solid color (100%) should appear in any one area. If color proof contacted from furnished film is not provided, publisher will contact match proof and charge at cost. If progressive proofs are provided, they should be printed on wet-on-wet with black, cyan, magenta and yellow color sequence. Four-color process film required for any 2-color ad running colors other than cyan, magenta, yellow or black. Thin lines, fine serifs and medium or small type should restricted to one color. Small type and fine serifs should not be used for reverse type.
Additional Information
Furnished Inserts: One-page inserts not accepted; only two, four, six and up. They are charged at the earned black and white rate; i.e., a two-page insert is charged at the earned black and white rate times two. Wrong emulsion, positives or other materials requiring composition to single-piece film are subject to production charges. Publisher is not responsible for reproduction quality from materials furnished to improper specifications or in poor condition.
Any changes (except for key numbers) or additions requested by the advertiser are subject to production charges. Advertisers are liable for any errors in advertising set by the publisher if a proof was not required by the advertiser. Advertising material is held for one year. Materials will not be returned unless requested in writing by advertiser/agency.
