When you place an order with us, we collect personally identifiable information such as your name, street address, email address, and credit card information. (We may also collect your phone number and fax number if supplied.) This information helps us to contact you with any questions about your subscription and to fulfill your order accurately. We also use this information to let you know about related products that may be of interest to you.
When you register, we collect the same information as outlined above in "order processing." Registering provides you with the opportunity to download articles, receive industry reports and newsletters.
When you give a gift, we collect personally identifiable information about you and your gift recipient. This information includes name, street address, email address, and credit card information (also phone number and fax number if supplied). Gathering this information helps us to fulfill your gift order properly.
Contest Entry or Survey Response
When you enter a contest or respond to a survey, we may ask for your name, address, phone number, and email address. We use this information to contact you in case you win the contest and to let you know about our products and services. We may also ask you to answer some questions. Captive is not responsible for any damages (direct, indirect, special or consequential) that you may suffer if you transmit personal information to us via email.
Your information is safely stored for as long as necessary for Captive to provide services and conduct statistical analysis essential to our business. Security measures are in place to protect against the loss or misuse of information provided by subscribers.
Who has access to your information?
Only individuals within the organization with a valid business reason will have access to any personally identifiable information; unauthorized individuals are denied access to such information. All Captive employees and third-party vendors sign confidentiality agreements confirming that they will not disclose personally identifiable information that they have access to as part of their jobs.
With whom do we share your information?
Captive believes in your right to informed consent in the handling of your information.
We will disclose your personal information to authorized employees who need it to process your new orders, renewals and invoices. We will also provide your name and delivery address to authorized shipping vendors to fulfill subscriptions and order requests.
We do not make the list of Captive customer email addresses available to any other companies.
